Nunu Chocolates

Location: 529 Atlantic Ave. BK
Time: 2pm
People: RB, CK and myself

Feelings: After meeting up with friends at Brooklyn Flea, we foolishly decided to walk back home on a cold and painfully windy afternoon. What saved us from the biting weather was Nunu Chocolates, located on Atlantic Avenue near Atlantic Terminal. Here at the flagship location, there is a coquettish farmhouse ambiance while being able to enjoy their famous collection of chocolates as well as wine, beer and excellent coffee and hot chocolate.

Prior to this Boerum Hill storefront, Nunu Chocolates had had strong presence in Brooklyn. With their high quality ingredients and noteworthy combinations of flavors like absinthe truffles and beer ganaches, they have become irresistible to even people who wouldn't care much for chocolates. (Who would not like chocolates, you may ask, but my friends in Japan who don't like sweets really enjoy their beer chocolates.) Unlike many other serious chocolatiers in the city, Nunu has a sense of humor about them that gives you the feel of simple, comfort chocolates.

The cafe clientele is completely diverse. From young kids enjoying their sweet delights to older couples sipping on wine. Lads and ladies enjoying beer and chocolates. It has a great mixture of wine bar + beer bar + chocolate factory + cafe that not a single person could resist this little spot. On top of that, they have free wi-fi. With the heart rapidly racing from the overdose of caffeine from delicious coffee, hot chocolate and chocolates, I might insanely shop on ssense.com or LaGarconne.com with the money I don't have.

If you don't feel like trekking to the area, Nunu is now available at Whole Foods.
