Time: 2pm
People: RB, CK and myself
List:
-Naturally gluten-free Venezuelan dishes, patacon sandwiches (meat stuffed in fried and flattened plantain cakes) can be found at this casual takeout spot.
-Founded in 2005, a popular food truck now has outposts in LES and Elmhurst.
-Amazing service-- to the point that an annoying customer who talked endlessly about the lack of dates meant nothing to us, thanks to their lovely customer service.
-Mix Patacon ($9, with two meats with fried queso blanco, green leaf lettuce, tomatoes, ketchup and salsa verde), with chorizo and steak was a big hit!
-There are arepas, cachapas, pepitos as well as delicious patacones.
-Vegetarian Cachapa ($8.75, black beans, avocado, queso blanco, sweet yellow plantains and salsa verde in sweet corn cakes) is filling and just plain, plantain wonderful, full of sweet and salty flavors.
-On weekends, they are open until 2am, perfect for late night cravings sans bread.
