American Beer Distributing Company 04-10-2011

Location: 256 Court St.
Time: 1pm
People: RB, CK and myself

Feelings: Growlers have recently become quite a Brooklyn staple. Fresh, local, green, and economical--There is nothing more Brooklyn than growlers. While I don't drink alcohol except for some few sips, the resident beer connoisseur, RB was excited to see that growlers are available at our neighborhood beer store, American Beer Distributing Company.

With large growlers at $10, you can choose from various micro-brews. They sell their own growlers, but if you already own one from elsewhere, they accept that as well. RB was pleased with his selection of IPA. It was hearty and tasty and very reasonably priced.

Why am I happy about these growlers? The answer is simple: less trash on recycle days. As many New Yorkers might know, we need to keep all sorts of recyclable trash in our appartment until the night before of the recycling day. When that's the beer cans and bottles, they really make the under the sink area smell like a dirty pub. Thanks to American Beer Distributing Company, our under the sink now smells like ... a sink.
