Japanese Curry with Pillsbury Roti? 03-16-2009

Time: 7pm
People: RB and myself, and thank you JLam from MeSoHungry for going back to Jackson Heights and getting us Roti.

Feelings: It all started when we passed by Jackson Heights' famous Southeast Asian grocery store, Patel Brothers during our trip to Sripraphai. P Mont shouted,"Pillsbury Naan, baby!" Pillsbury makes naan? JLam and I had to see what it was all about. JLam eventually went back there and brought us back some Pillbury roti.
I tried it with Japanese curry, brown rice (as a back up), and fukujinzuke (Japanese pickles commonly served with curry) from Jasmart. The result was a major success. The roti was a bit doughy, it is afterall Pillsbury, but tasty. It complimented the sweet and spicy flavor of Japanese curry. I would love to try it again, but JLam would need to take us to Patel Brothers.

next time, I'm getting the non-Pillsbury brand because it's probably more Indian.
